KAPS (Knowledge Assessment of Pharmaceutical Sciences) is an evaluating exam, which is conducted by Australian & New Zealand Pharmacy council.  This exam assesses your understanding and knowledge in pharmaceutical sciences. To practice as a registered pharmacist in Australia or New Zealand, an overseas pharmacist must pass this exam. Candidates who want to practice in New Zealand must first pass a language exam (OET or IELTS) to be able to take the KAPS Exam. Candidates who pursue the Australian path will be eligible to sit for the KAPS exam without having to pass the language exam. However, before beginning an internship, you must pass both the KAPS and the language exam (OET, PTE, IELTS).

Exam duration     2 Hours for each paper

Exam pattern       100 Multiple choice questions     for each paper.

Validity of KAPS Exam     3 years

 

Each paper has a 50 percent pass mark. If a candidate fails one of the papers, he or she must retake the failed paper within two years of passing the other. The number of times a candidate can take the KAPS exam is unlimited.
